Stress is caused by a lot of things. You constantly deal with friends, school, work, and many other things through out the day. They all cause stress for different reasons. Maybe you have too much homework, or there is drama within a friend group. Any way you look at it, stress is not good. Everyone deals with stress a little bit differently. You can hold it in until you burst like a ballon. Or, you can let it out. A great way to let out you stress is through yoga.
Yoga is time to youself where you can let your thoughts flow. It gives you time to decide what matters are relevant in your life. You get to evaluate the decisions you have made in the past, or decisions you will have to make. You hear very few sounds while you are doing yoga. You hear the gentle voice of your instuctor, serene music playing, and the inhaling and exhaling of your own lungs. Honestly, breathing helps tremendously relieve stress. Although collecting thoughts, and thinking about what's going on in your life is perfect to do during your time at yoga, simply focusing on breathing can be helpful. You only have to worry about one thing. When you think about your breath- big inhale, big exhale- you don't have time to think about all the things that can stress you out, or cause you to be angry. In daily activity we don't even have to think about breathing, it comes naturally. During yoga, breathing becomes a time to center yourself. Yoga strengthens you, mentally, spiritually, and physically. Yoga is not only a good way to alleviate stress, it can also be a great workout. No matter what circumstance you're in, you will most likely alway face a bit of stress. During yoga, you can escape it all. For maybe an hour, you don't have to worry about anyone or anything, but yourself. In that hour, stress becomes seemingly nonexistent. If you go to a school where you use a tablet or laptop, you may know what I'm talking about. I drain the battery life of my iPad everyday at school. Each night, before I go to bed, I have to plug in my iPad. It has become part of my nightly routine. On occasion though, my iPad doesn't end up charging. When I wake up the next morning there is a sense of panic. I open my iPad to see if I have received any new emails, and I check to see if my iPad is at 100 percent. It is quite a problem if my electronic device is at 15 percent. I can plug it in until I have to leave for school, but that sometimes doesn't serve much purpose. The rest of the charging must happen at school. This is where I start to have a problem.
It is necessary at my school to have your iPad, in order to many functions during the day. If I don't have my iPad, I might miss out on something important, or a teacher might get upset. So, if my iPad is low on battery, I need to bring a charger. For me, there are certain teachers I am OK with asking if I can charge my iPad. Others, I feel might get angry with me that I did not charge it the night before. There is some what of a double standard here. Teacher and students both must come prepared to school. Teachers have their own class room to be able charge their laptop or tablet. As a students, I am at the mercy of the teacher. If they say I can not charge my iPad, I have to wait for the next class to ask. Teachers may argue that we should charge our iPad on our own time, whether that is at home or during our free period. Like I said before, sometimes my iPad does not charge when I plug it in at night. Some students can charge their electronic device during a free period. Although, other students may not have a free period, or it may fall at the end of the day. If I were a teacher, I would want my students to be charging their iPad in my class, rather than missing the material I am teaching. Teachers need understanding that sometimes our iPads don't charge. It happens to all of us one time or another. However, I realize that some students take for granted the privilege of charging electrons at school. We are responsible for making sure our iPads are charged. Let's be honest, school is much better when our electron devices are charged. |
